GoodCompany Ventures Overview


GoodCompany Ventures created the first accelerator designed to engage social entrepreneurs to apply new technologies to unmet social needs, build business models to take their innovations to scale, and attract investment capital to fuel their impact. To date, our graduates have raised over $60mm in private capital to generate a projected $5bn in social impact. GCV is a 501(c)3 nonprofit.


Position Profile


A one-year paid fellowship to develop a recent graduate in the growing field of social finance.  The position will include training in venture capital, impact investing and emerging forms of non-profit finance, supporting the needs of GCV and its social entrepreneurs, and will provide exposure to a national network of investors and innovators in social finance. The position is full-time, will be based in Philadelphia, PA, and will report to the Executive Director.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities


Investor Engagement

  • Prepare and manage communications with GCV funders

  • Manage and expand national investor advisory network

  • Research and develop new funding prospects, across spectrum of equity investors, corporate sponsors and grant makers, for GCV and alumni entrepreneurs

  • Design and implement innovative models for social finance, including PRIs, pilot funding, pioneer capital and structured exits, for GCV and alumni entrepreneurs


Product Development

  • Manage commercial development of GCV’s proprietary impact projection model

  • Support accelerator curriculum development and delivery for capital strategies and financial modeling

  • Develop content and delivery of impact investor resource center


Thought Leadership

  • Research and writing for social finance innovation

  • Extend “risk reframing” research

  • Develop advocacy opportunities via conferences, publications and social media


Financial Administration

  • Support design and implementation of transactions for GCV and alumni entrepreneurs

  • Support internal financial planning and administration


Desired Experience, Skills and Basic Qualifications

  • A strong interest in social entrepreneurship and impact investing

  • Undergraduate degree and work experience that provides foundational fluency with (a) economic concepts that frame the development of social finance and (b) basic financial analysis required for early-stage investing

  • Strong organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner

  • Mastery of software tools to perform financial analysis and generate presentations (e.g. Excel, PPT)
