Elinor Haider

Elinor Haider, Vice President, Market Development is responsible for developing and implementing national market, policy and regulatory strategy for Veolia’s over $1B Municipal and Commercial business line. Ms. Haider leads active engagement with elected officials, government decision makers, and industry organizations to support existing regional operations, project pipeline and M&A activity. She additionally manages the Strategic Development unit, which accelerate sales through market analytics, customer survey, CRM and lead generation tools. Ms. Haider previously led business development with P&L responsibility for Veolia’s largest generation asset.

 

Ms. Haider has 20 years of energy, finance and real estate experience. Prior to Veolia Energy, Ms. Haider served as CEO at NovaThermal Energy. In that role she led the company to capitalize and execute pilot and commercial scale demonstration projects, initiated comprehensive intellectual property filings, and built a MidAtlantic project pipeline to commercialize an early stage technology.

 

Ms. Haider has served as Deputy Commerce Director and Chief of Staff for the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development of the City of Philadelphia. Prior to that role, she led the recapitalization of the loan portfolio for the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC). Through grant, debt, tax credit and securitization programs, Ms. Haider raised over $100 million in new resources, to leverage over $2 billion in private real estate transactions including a first-time award of New Markets Tax Credits.


Ms. Haider holds a MBA in Real Estate Finance from the Wharton School, MA in international economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS, and BA from Georgetown University. She has served in numerous civic leadership roles, including on the executive committees of Smith Memorial Playground, Fairmount Community Development Corporation, and as a founding member of the Women’s MBA Network.
